Senior News:
1st Team:
The First Team Beat Skyvalley in the 1st Round of the Divisional Cup Last Wens 3rd May by 4-1 in the Curragh with Mark Duffy, Darragh Concannon & a Brace from Liam Lynch ensured a place in the Quarter Finals vs Moore on Thurs 17th May and Another encounter with Skyvalley was had on Sunday in Lacarrow in the Semi-Final of the Roscommon Cup, A Very Blustery, Windy Day really terrible conditions for Football and Ballinasloe went behind to an Gary Egan own goal but Lynch leveled almost straight away and it was Liam again who grabbed the winner in Injury time to ensure the Town would be in the Final on the 27th May in Lacarrow Vs Ballymoe.. Still fighting on the two Cups and with the League in the Bag it's Promising to be a very exciting end to the season for all the Squad... On The Town !!!
2nd Team:
The 2nd Team finished their season in style with a divisional Cup Win over Cam Celtic in Lacarrow on Friday 11th May, Richard Egan's 1st Half Free-Kick was enough to seal the win and bring the Cup to Ballinasloe. In very tough Conditions Ballinasloe defended quite excellently with Captain Mike Lynch in very stubborn form at the back and Jason Towuig in very Feisty mood in midfield and Brian Campbell doing his part working very hard up top to take the pressure off. In All a good season for the Squad and a cup is exactly what this team deserves !! Well Done to all the squad along with The team of Patrick "Monch" Loughnane & Bobby Ronaldson for their work through the season... Thanks Lads.
Special Mention to the 2nd Team Player of the Year Shane Fallon who was presented with his trophy after the final on Friday !!! Hard Work & Training - Well Done Shane..
Masters:
The Masters played the Prison Services on Saturday 12th May it was their 2nd Game and their 2nd win having beating Shiven 2 weeks earlier with Ian Parker getting the only goal of the game that day it was Parker again that was on the score sheet in Ballymoe he opened the scoring in the 1st Half when a Noel Lyons Corner fell to him in the box and Minty didn't miss from close range but just before half-time the Prison Services leveled with a well taken goal, But in the 2nd Half it was Parker again this time with a 30 yard screamer to put Ballinasloe in Front and take the 3 points. Thats 6 points from 2 Games lets keep it going lads.
A.D.S.L Season Review:
U10 Squad - Management - Bobby Burke, Michael Fogarty.
A great season for our U10 squad in the A.D.S.L U10 Fun League - Winning games, Losing games & Drawing games letting these young men experience football and a Semi-Final in the cup to go with it so a lot more to come from this young team!! Thanks to Bobby and Humphry for all their hard work over the season - Well Done Lads..
U11 A Squad - Management - Peter McCormack, Mark Duffy.
Another Super Season for the U11's playing in a Fun League, But in the Local Cup a Shock early exit prevented this side from showing their talents on the Bigger stage but a Fantastic run in the SFAI Seery-Menton Cup where their journey took them to St Kevins Boys in Dublin for a last 16 clash saw them only beaten in the last Min of the game. But this was a truly Super Effort by this Side and Bigger Things are expected for next season.. Well Done Peter and Mark !!
U11 B Squad - Management - Ronan Burke.
The U11 B Squad enjoyed a very Successful season also in the Fun league but if you were totaling points some say they would have finished 2nd :-) but a Semi-Final in the Local Cup were they had a fantastic run.. Well Run by Ronan who Completed his Kick Start 1 course and is doing a Fantastic job with a Great bunch of Kids.. Well Done Ronan & Thank You.
U12 A Squad - Management - Noel Lyons, Jason Fallon.
The U12's finished the Season on a real High after Winning the Local Cup in dramatic fashion by beating A.C Celtic on Penalty's in the Final after a 3-3 draw after extra time where Ballinasloe were never behind in the game. Nathan Horan had got 2 in the game & Heather Payne getting the Other in such an exciting game but the Hero was Goalkeeper Michleen Fogarty with some vital saves in the game ! one right at the very death and of course the Knobbly Knees Penalty Save made it a great day for all the squad and Management but will be Looking for a better League position next season.. Well Done to Noel & Jason and not Forgetting Chris Horan for all the great work early in the year..
U12 B Squad - Management - Thomas Fitzpatrick, Wayne Dowd.
a super season for Thomas, Wayne & The Squad finishing 2nd in there League and having a good Local Cup run, Thomas Like Ronan Completed his Kick Start 1 Course and is Putting what was learned into practice and this shows by the League form and the run in the Cup, Great Job these 2 lads do with this bunch of Kids, Keep Up the Fantastic Work Lads - Thank You.
U13 Squad - Management - Jason Fallon, Enda Layng, Noel Lyons.
The U13's again out done themselves this Season but didn't start that way with an early exit from the SFAI Cup in a thrilling game in the Curragh where they were on the wrong side of a 5-4 scoreline, But Upward and onward and they went on to Win the League and Cup Double for the 2nd Year running. The League was very Successful Losing only once and sealed it needing only a point against Hudson Bay on Wens the 2nd of May but won the Game 3-1 with Conor Layng getting 2 and Nathan Horan getting the last to secure the Win & The League for Ballinasloe. the Saturday previous this Squad had just Secured the Local Cup in the Athlone Town Stadium by Beating A.C Celtic by 5-1 with Conor Layng getting the 1st Jonathan Cunningham & Paul Carey both getting a brace. Achieving a double at any level is a bit special but to do it Back To Back is Outstanding.. Very Well Done to All in this Sqaud & Thanks to Jason, Enda & Noel for all your hard work.. More of the Same !
U14 Squad - Management - Enda layng, Jason Fallon, Tony Coyne.
The U14's got there Season off to a flyer winning games in the League and in the Cups and going well in general. Having got to the Semi-Final of the Connaught Cup and to the Last 32 in the SFAI Cup, The Local Cup was a certain target that they wanted to Win but due to Injury's they met a very good Temple Villa side and lost the game 1-0 but they still had the League and needed just a point to secure the Title Vs St Francis in the Curragh on Saturday 12th May. They Started slow and found themselves two behind after 12 mins, But The Lads Rallied and Oisin Kelly found a perfect pass to Dylan Johnston and Dylan whipped a perfect ball to Eoin Gavin at the back post to guide home and Ballinasloe went on to dominate the 2nd Half and got there rewards when Kelly again involved laid the ball off to Conor Layng and a scuffed shot somehow found it's way across the line to make it 2-2 the final whistle came soon after and the Town were Champions.. Well Done to all the Squad and Thank you Enda, Jason & Tony for all your work with this cracking bunch of lads...
U15 Squad - Management - Kevin Broderick, Barry O'Conner.
The U15's have been very consistent all season doing well in the SFAI and Last Saturday 3rd May they Beat Hudson Bay in the Final of the Local Cup in some fashion. Jordan O'Leary putting the Town in Front before Hudson Bay leveled the game just before the final whistle and with the last kick of the Game O'Leary won the Final for the Town for them to lift the Cup. With one League Game left on Wens 16th May in the Curragh with only a point to claim the League they play Hudson Bay so good luck to the Squad !! Big Thanks to Kevin & Barry ! Fantastic season and some very hard work put in !! Well Done Lads...
U16/17 Squad - Management - Joby Kelly, Wayne Braithwaite.
Great Season for the U16/17 Squad finishing 2nd in the League and got to the Local Cup Final but just wasn't to be!! A lot of good players in this Squad and some Senior Players in the not too distant future... Great Job from Joby & Wayne from Training to organisation to the way this side plays it's football !!! The U14 Were knocked out of the U14 Local Cup this morning in a scrappy game in Mount Temple, Ballinasloe were missing Glen Kelly, Aaron Johnston & Dylan Johnston but replacements Oisín Kelly and John Cawely were both very capable when called on, Alex Duke was very busy in the 1st Half and James Man Lynch was also Good today and covered alot of ground, Danial Glynn &Jonathan Moloney were excellent today and GoalKeeper Mikey Lyons made some great saves and his distributions were excellent.. Jonathan Cunningham & Conor Layng both worked very hard all game but had little to work with at times, But it is Cup Football and sometimes you have these days, Ballinasloe would Like to wish Temple Villa U14's the Very Best in the Final.
Ballinasloe U14's only need a Single Piont from their last two games to claim the League Title so it's not all bad...

The Under11 B side beat St Francis 5-1 away on Saturday and Another solid performance from the Town team. We were 1 - 0 down after 2 minutes and from then on stepped up several gears. An absolute screamer of an equalizer from Adam O Connor made it 1-1 before Danny Coen scored his first goal for the club.
The third was as good a goal as you would see on TV.
Cian Reynolds, defending an attack, took the ball from the St Francis
attacker and ran the length of the pitch to slot in his 3rd goal of the season
Captain Darragh Finn added a fourth, created by man of the match Danny

The Under11 A Side had a Bad day at the office when they were beaten 7-1 away to St Josephs, Head up lads!!!
The Under13 traveled to St Josephs on Thursday evening to play the Quarter Finals of the local cup and anyone watching was treated to a cracking game of Football.. St Josephs to there credit leveled the game again when a corner wasn't dealt with but it was Layng again who followed a ball in a dispatched with his head after beating the keeper to the ball making this game 3-2 and Cawley made it 4-2 when a Jonathan Maloney free kick fell kindly in the box to for Cawley to head home and Jonathan Cunningham finished off the scoring after Oisin Kelly sent him through the St Josephs defense with a super ball and Jonathan finished off superbly.. Best for Ballinasloe were Colin Touhy, Jonathan Maloney, John Cawley, Darragh Cunningham & Oisin Kelly. Next up is the Semi-Final they will meet either Hudson Bay or Temple Villa.

After 12 Weeks without a Competitive game the 2nd team were at home on Saturday night to Cam Celtic ! It Stayed 1-0 right till the very end with Ballinasloe having to defend and Shane Fallon, Mike Lynch, Warren Coyne & Padraig Ryan defended very well But it would be Campbell who grab his second goal in as many nights when he chased down a lost cause ! Yet the Town had there chance with Conor Layng coming close after meeting an Eoin Gavin cross and hitting the side netting on 2 occasions! But at Half-Time Hibs Lead 1-0.
The 2nd half however Ballinasloe took control and ran the game by piling on the pressure creating chance after chance 1st Jonathan Cunningham came close with Layng again causing more problems then it was Glen Kelly's turn and his shot just slipped past the post.. then Ballinasloe looked to have an equalizer when another super Gavin cross found Lorcan Daly at the back post and he fired past the keeper but strangely was adjudged to be offside (He Wasn't) a shame that everyone else watching the game players managers and supporters could see !!! But this is Football...
Hibs added their 2nd while Ballinasloe had tried to push for that ever elusive equalizer.. Unlucky Lads a super game of Football ye deserved more..

Well done lads and the best of luck in the Quarter Finals..
