Drogheda Crescent 3 v 2 Knightsbrook

Drogheda crescents midweek match v there promotion rivals Knightsbrook on tuesday evening had everything in it Red cards, Goals, Comebacks
and a late winner to give the Crescent the three points and put a massive dent in there rivals promotion bid.The game started well with the Crescent dominating early on a
deservedly taking the lead from an Ian Devine penalty after a foul on Paddy o Boyle but the drogs took there feet off the pedal and allowed Knigtsbrook back into the game but for all there posseion couldn't get the equalising goal.
The second half started in the same vain as the first and the Crescent doubled there lead in the 55th minute when Paddy o Boyles brilliant lob seemed to have won the 3 points but the game changed when a double sending off seemed to unsettle The Crescent and inside 20 minutes ofthe second half it was 2 v 2 Knightsbrooks first coming from the spot and there second  wonder strike from 30 yards.
The game seemed destined for a 2 v 2 draw until sub David Donnavans quick thinking from a free kick put Ian Devine in and he unselfishly squared for Crescent full back Jr Coddington to steal the 3 points in the dying minutes and with it keep The Crescents promotion hopes alive.
Best for the Crescent was Mark Hinse, Paddy o Boyle, and Man of the
match Ian Devine

Torro Utd 1 v 7 Drogheda Crescent

Drogheda crescent continued there good form on sunday morning with a thumping 7 v 1 away win against Torro Utd.
Playing on a terrible pitch The Crescent still managed to play some nice football and took a two goal lead early on when two great Kevin Walsh deliveries were headed to the net firstly by Paddy o Boyle then soon after by Helder Mota. Crescent were well on top and should have been out of sight but poor finishing and some fine saves by the young Torro keeper keep it at two until half time. The second half was taking the same shape as the first with Crescent dominating but not taking there chances until after been denied earlier Top scorer Ian Devine finished to the net from 20 yards to make it 3. Straight after the goal Torro were reduced to ten men and Crescent took full advantage with goals from Paddy o Boyle and a great finish by Brian Smith to make it five. The remaining 20 minutes was very one sided with the Crescent making it 6 through Ian Devine after good work from Lee Kavanagh and wrapped up the scoring for the day when top scorer Ian Devine completed his hat trick to take his goals tally this season to 26.Torros ill discipline seen them have two more players dismissed late on but the game was well over as a contest by that stage.
Best for the Crescent was Ian Devine, Paddy o Boyle and man of the match Kevin Walsh..

Drogheda Crescent F.C 1 v 1 Ardee Celtic.

Crescent got a well earned point sunday afternoon away to third place Ardee Celtic in a tight match.
Crescent again missing 5 or 6 first team regulars started slowly and didn't really get going until midway through the 1st half with Richie Dooley at the heart of all the good things crescent were doing A close first half ended with Richie Kelly having a goal disallowed for a foul on the Ardee keeper.
The second half started with the crescent well on top dominating possession and creating all the chances with Barry Dyas and Ian Devine going close.
Ardee took the lead against the run of play when crescent failed to clear a corner and the Ardee player had the simple task of heading to the net unmarked. The crescent reacted well and had there deserved equaliser 2minutes later when great work from man of the match Richie Dooley resulted in Lee Kavanagh heading the equaliser.
The crescent were well on top with Kevin Walsh dominating midfield and winger Barry Dyas causing havoc they just couldn't get the winner there play just deserved. Best for the crescent was Barry Dyas,Kevin Walsh,Richie Kelly and man of the match Richie Dooley.

Drogheda Crescent 2 v 0 Kentstown Rovers.

Crescent got back to winning ways Sunday when they beat Kentstown in Monasterboice. Crescent started well and scored with there first attack when a left wing cross by Barry Dyas was headed to the net by skipper Keith Collins.
The crescent had a few long range efforts from Ian Devine and Paddy O’Boyle and were well on top through out the first half with Kentstown limited to the odd long range effort. Kentstown improved in the 2nd half but didn't realy threaten the crescent goal and only a debatable disallowed goal from a brilliant Ian Devine chip keep them in the game. The 2nd and killer goal arrived with 10mins remaining when great work from man of the match Paddy O’Boyle feed Ian Devine who brilliantly finished to the bottom corner to wrap up the 3points.
Kentstowns ill discipline seen them have there coach and two players sent off late in the game to cap off a truly miserable day in Monasterboice.
Best on the day was Richie Kelly, Ian Devine, Lee Kavanagh and man of the match Paddy O’Boyle.

Drogheda Crescent 1 v 1 Cavan Town

The Crescent threw away another 2 points Sunday morning in Monasterboice after missing a host of chances and to add insult to injury also missed a stoppage time penalty the 4th straight penalty miss this season.
The drogs started brightly and created early chances with Ian Devine going close twice and Paddy O'Boyle also testing the Cavan town goal keeper and took a deserved lead when Paddy O'Boyles shot looped over the keeper and into the top corner.
The 2nd half was much the same as the first with Devine missing 2 further chances to wrap up the game and Paddy O'Boyle also going close and with there 1st meaning full attack of the game Cavan town equalised with 20 minutes remaining.
The crescent pushed for an equailser and had a great chance in injury time when after O'Boyle was dragged to the ground by the cavan town keeper up stepped Ian Devine to rattle the post and end another game on parity with the crescent scratching there heads as to how they didnt get the 3 points there play deserved.

Best for the crescent was David Donnavan and Richie Kelly.

Drogheda Crescent 0 v 0 Slane Wanderers

Crescent dropped 2 further points in Monasterboice Sunday morning after some how falling to score in a game they dominated from start to finish. The Drogs started the game brightly and created early chances through Kevin Walsh,Ian Devine and Paddy O’Boyle but couldn't get that lead goal there play deserved.
Crescent continued to dominate with Jason Johnston hitting a post and Slane kepper making 2 great saves firstly from Kevin Walsh then from Paddy O’Boyle again and some how the game was still scoreless at the break.
A dogged Slane stuck to there task and never gave an inch in a feisty encounter but it was the crescent who were still creating all the chances but again were wasteful in front of goal with Johnston,Devine,Walsh and Mota all going close but to no avail as a game they dominated from start to finish somehow ended up in a stalemate.

Best for the Crescent was  Jason Johnston,Paddy O’Boyle and Helder Mota.

Crescent got a hard earned point away to Longwood on Sunday morning in terrible conditions but it could have been more but for a crescent missed penalty early in the first half, Still really struggling with injuries and suspensions the crescent were down to the bare bones again.

Navan Cosmos 3 v 1 Drogheda Crescent

Drogheda crescent lost ground on there rivals today as they lost 2 late goals in a game they didnt deserve to lose,Cosmos started the better and created the early chances but didnt get the lead goal there play deserved and crescent were dealt a major blow when they lost skipper keith collins to injury early on from there all ready depleted ranks.
Nil nil at half time cosmos took the lead early in the second half with a back post header but the drogs uped there game and controlled the entire second half and deservedly equailised through ian devine.
Devine then hit a  post and had a goal chalked off for offside before 2 late goals robbed the drogs of a deserved point and to add insult to injury they wre a reduced to 10 men late on to complete a miserable day.
Team Bryan Smyth,Lee Kavanagh,Kevin Walsh,JR Coddington,Keith Colins.( Mal Smith ),Paddy O'Boyle,Paddy Murtagh,Richie Dooley,Jason Johnston,Daryl Carolan, ( Kevin Hoey ) Ian Devine, Sub not used Shane Casey.
