Welcome back, first of all a state of play for the save, Finances are getting worse. With little to no money coming in European football is becoming a big need as soon as possible. Hopefully this season is the year we finally break into the european spots.

Pre-season

Pre-season went well, 5 games 4 wins and a draw. 22 goals scored and two conceded.

September

A steady start to the season, we opened with a 1-1 draw away at Ionikos, Dejarano took the lead but we let in an equaliser in the 93rd minute. We followed that up with a 1-0 win at Panserraikos with Karlsson getting off the mark. We finished the month with another away draw with Halimi grabbing both goals and one being a late equaliser to secure the point.

October

We started the month with another draw, This time at home vs Panathinaikos Nunez and Karlsson both grabbing a goal before we again conceded late to give up two points. We followed that up with a beating from PAOK with Arabuli getting the only goal. We bounced back with a 4-1 vs Atromitos with goals from Eleftheriadis, Arabuli, Karlsson and Karamanos. We rounded up the month with a 1-0 win vs Apollon Smyrnis with Halimi on the scoresheet.

November

A bad month for us, a 3-0 loss at home vs AEK. We then beat Volos 5-2 coming back from 2-0 down in the first 5 minutes with a Hat trick from Karlsson and goals from Eleftheriadis and Arabuli. We ended the month with a 1-0 loss away at Asteras Tripolis.

December

We started the month with a 2-2 draw vs Aris, Goals from Arabuli and Gentzoglou secured the point. We followed that up with a 1-0 with at Apollon Pontou in the cup thanks to a early Karlsson goal. Olympiakos then beat us 1-0. A draw vs Panetolikos isn’t what we needed with an own goal helping us draw 1-1. We then beat Ionikos 4-1 thanks to an Arabuli double and goals from Karlsson and Briek.
Another draw as Panserraikos held us to 2-2 thanks to Nunez and Karlsson goals. We then made sure of passage to the next round with a 4-1 thrashing of Apollon Pontou with a double from Karlsson with Mitoglou and Golemic also on the score sheet.

January

3 defeats on the bounce vs OFI (4-1 Briek) Panathinaikos (0-2) and PAOK (3-1 Halimi) ruled out of hopes of making the top 6 again this season. A 0-0 draw with Atromtis and a 3-1 win vs Apollon Smyrnis with a double from Arabuli and a Karlsson goal. We also get knocked out of the cup at the Quarter final stage after a 7-3 aggerate loss to PAOK.

Winter Transfers

Nobody in but we got €350,000 for Bejarano which will help our bank balance. toutzaris left before his contract ended on a free.

February

A 1-1 draw away vs AEK thanks to an Arabuli goal was then followed by a 2-0 win Volos with both Karlsson and Arabuli on the scoresheet again. We ended the month with back to back 0-0 draws vs Asteras Tripolis and Aris.

March

A 2-2 draw vs Olympiakos thanks to an Arabuli double and a 1-0 loss to Panetolikos. We then started the relegation group with a 1-0 win away vs Panserraikos with Bejarano getting his final goal for the club before he leaves.

8th isn’t good enough, a backwards step. Hopefully we can secure 7th by the end of the season at least.

April

A 1-0 win vs Ionikos with Arabuli grabbing the goal was followed up by two more 0-0 draws, This time vs Volos and Asteras Tripolis. We finished the month with a 4-2 win over Panetolikos with Cristiano getting a double and Karlsson and Arabuli both scoring too.

May

We finished the season with 2 wins, a 2-1 win over Apollon Smyrnis with goals from Arabuli and Bakic then a 4-2 win over Atromitos with Halimi getting a hat trick and Karlsson getting the 4th.

We managed to grab the top spot again for the 3rd season in a row, we really need to break into the top group next season.

PAOK broke Olympiakos’s dominance after 4 seasons.

Season round up

Arabuli and Karlsson both grabbed 16 goals a piece and Halimi was a star since signing with 13 assists and the highest average rating.

Halimi coming runner up shows how good his season was. Its just a shame overall we didn’t make that next step.

Summer Transfers

Karamanos, Nunez and Romanic wanted massive pay rises that we couldn’t give them if we want to improve the team going forward so they were all let go.

6 players in this summer. I had three aims this summer, a successor for Arabuli, an upgrade in centre midfield and some top youngsters that we could potentially sell on for money to help with our financial situation,

First up is Fotis Ioannidis who joins us following his release by Panathinikos, We will eventually take over from Arabuli as Karlssons partner.

Michael Kingsley joins us from Bologna to strengthen our midfield.

4 youngsters join us and hopefully they will develop and we can sell them on for a profit.

A disappointing season overall, I really thought we would take that next step. The top 5/6 are just a lot further ahead than us. We’re now €3m in the red and they are spending over €40m on transfers between them, We need to adapt on the pitch and hopefully beat them tactically so this summer I’ll be working on a new tactic.

Thanks again for reading.
