January Window

During the January window once again we have been culled by bigger clubs, Youth product Fernandes went off to Saudi before RBL took my star CB Guzman. Brighton came in for our Goalkeeper Andrew for a massive €38.5m.
We lost another Youth product Barroso to Dortmund for €14.75m before PSG signed Torres for €47.5m.

I’m not a fan of signing players in January, As I’ve shown already I use this window to bring in youth players but this window I brought in two for the first team.

The first was Central midfielder Sa following a recommendation from @FridaynightFM then we finally got the right man for no9 in Broja.

Porto pipped us to the title by 3 points but after losing our Starting GK,CB and LW I’m surprised we pushed them that far.

We still finished the season as treble winners after winning all 3 domestic cup competitions.

Broja Slow Start

8 goals in 23 appearances hasn’t been the best start but his underlying stats still look good, He hardly played before joining us so hopefully with a full pre season under his belt next season he can start on fire.

Summer Window

One of the best things about FM24 for me has been the AI transfers seem massively improved. I haven’t had to offer anyone out and anyone in good form attracts attention. I’ve also helped this by keeping wages low and giving players realistic minimum release clauses which make them even more attractive.
This has added to my enjoyment because every player is at risk of leaving at any time so I need a constant conveyor belt of talent coming into the club whether it’s internally via intakes or transfers. I also try not to get too attached to players. As you’ll see again this summer we’ve had an overhaul again. The biggest issue is maintaining our performance through this.

Roaming Playmaker Fabio Vieira returned to England to have another shot at the Premier League with a €37m move to Liverpool. Following Andrew’s departure in January Ramirez finally got his shot between the sticks and did well enough that Palmeiras met his €10m release clause. Two keepers and two centre backs have left us in two windows as Arsenal come in for Gomez for €40m.
Gimenez was the ideal replacement for Guzman but he’s also had his head turnt as he leaves us for Wolfsburg. The final departure of the window saw Spurs meet the release clause for Moscardo as he leaves for €38.5m

Ive looked through the squad going into the summer and highlighted that I needed experience in 3 positions. Goalkeeper, A left footed centre back and a playmaker in central midfield.

First through the door was 24 year old Albanian Central midfielder Kristijan Asllani. He joins for just €13m to fill the gap left by Vieira.

Next in was Sikou Niakate a Left footed CB who replaces Gomez. Costing €25m from division rivals Braga. At 27 he becomes one of our most experienced players.

Most important signing this summer was a new ball playing Goalkeeper, comfortable with both feet, Tall and commands his area well. 25 year old Austrian Goalkeeper Niklas Hedl joins us for €15.25m.

Just the 3 signings this summer as we have some youth talent I want to give a push plus we had the addition of Broja in January. I’m slightly concerned about our depth at centre back but if that becomes an issue I can look to address it in January.
