Welcome back, we’re in the big time! And god do we know it. The jump has been massive, Let’s see how it’s gone.

August

It started so well with a point at home vs Spurs which followed 3 league defeats and out of the EFL Cup

September

Our first win in the Premier League was much needed after 5 losses on the bounce

October

6 points from a possible 12, two clean sheets at home aswell.

November

An unbeaten month! but only 6 points from a possible 12

December

4 points from a possible 15 points over the Christmas period

January

3 points from a possible 15, a win in the cup vs QPR before Spurs knocked us out

Table

5 points is the gap between us and the relegation zone with 13 games to go. Some big teams below us.

Transfers

Out

These players weren’t getting games or up to the standard, so with the 3 players coming on I chose to try and move a few one. All were for a profit!

In

We needed reinforcements, So I bought a new Center midfield partnership and another upgrade in defence.

Chan

Another upgrade in defence, he can play both RB and CB need have struggled in games with defensive cover of a certain quailty so Chan joins from Lyon.

Hughes

My center midfielders aren’t good enough no where near so after a quiet summer and money in the budget I went out and bought a new pairing first is Australian Jonathan Hughes who has 60 caps for his National team already aged 24 and he joins from Marseille.

McCarthy

Hughes midfield partner is Dan McCarthy he joins from Chelsea, He’s had good loans at Brighton and Vitesse and will come straight into our starting XI

Overall

Not a bad start to the season but the gap in quality in certain games was massive. Losing 8-1 to relegation rivals Bournemouth was a perfect example. This is why I’ve gone on and invested, with a 5 point gap we are positioned nicely to try and stay up and hopefully these improvements will ensure that.
