Welcome back, When we left we were just outside the relegation zone. Let’s see how the rest of the season went.

February

Ouch 0 points from a possible 9 but what a set of fixtures, we’re now in the relegation zone

March

We bounced back with 3 wins from 3 a maximum of 9 points! these fixtures could be massive come the end of the season

April

4 points from a possible 12 we are 6 points from safety

May

A win at Southampton and results going our way secured our safety in the Premier League!

Table

11 wins is sensational! those 3 wins in March saved us, The additions in January were vital and its paid off.

Awards

Clarkson was brilliant and so was Essomba and Conn, 3 players who came up with us and took to the change of standard.

Transfers

We were handed a £50m transfer budget and I had 3 positions i wanted to improve. LB, RM and another RB.
I actually ended up spending £37m  but making a £5m profit

Valencia

I was on the search for a bit more quality in depth in defence and my scouts had found Valencia. He will come in and most likely start allowing Chan and Markovic to rotate between RB/CB starting and resting

Manuel

Marchel had done a brillant job the last 18 months but we needed some one better and Manuel Joins from Sevilla hes an instant upgrade with potential to improve

Salah

I really needed/wanted a big upgrade at right midfield. I was willing to spend up to £30m, I found two players both failed to get work permits and I couldn’t find anyone else that was a big enough upgrade for the price their clubs wanted. My scout then said Mo Salah was available on a free and it made me think about Big Sam and Bolton in the premier league with players like Campo, Okocha, Djorkaeff and Bobic and this signing would be of similar vein and fitting. So I have bought Salah in on a 1 year deal which gives me another year to find the future RM to sign. The day after signing he announced he will be retiring next summer so it is purely a one year deal.

Keita

On deadline day Sheffield United came in with a £37.5m bid for Fergus Moan a player i signed on a free 4 years ago who was now my first choice striker. It was too big an offer to reject, Keita was on my list for next summer potential transfers so i moved a year early and he joins from Man City. He’s been out on 4 loans across europe and scored goals so I’m hopeful he will slot in and score for us.
These two deals are a record sale and signing for the club and this save.

Overall

A big summer, transfer records broken and we’re buying big name players we have come a long way from league one and £41m of debt. The plan now is to continue our progression up the table.
The youth set up had taken a bit of a battering the past 8 seasons with no investment so the board are working on bringing it all up to premier league standard. The next objective is to take Bolton back to Europe in the next 8 seasons.
Hopefully you all stick around and see if we can do it.

  1. Can’t wait to see how Salah performs. I’m a sucker for a 35+ signing
