Welcome back, We still hate Man City! Lets catch up with the end of the season..

February

Following the injury to my Goalkeeper we were hit by a crisis with 6 first teamers out.
0 points from a possible 12 yet we managed a 1-0 win in the FA Cup

March

2 points from a possible 9 sees us slide down the table but a 1-0 win over 2 legs vs Porto sees us through in the Europa League.
4-2 win with 3 goals in injury time vs Championship Birmingham sees us into the Fa Cup semis vs… Man City

April

4 points from a possible 12 we are out of the European spots, its Europa league win or bust for European football next season now, luckily we battered Real Sociedad, 1-0 away before a 6-1! home win. We then won 3-0 at home vs Monaco in the Semi Final first Leg.
Man City beat us 1-0 to end our hopes of a FA Cup Three-peat.

May

7 points out of 12 in the league ends the domestic season on a high.
A late Protti goal sees us ensure a trip to our first european final with a 4-2 agg.
Where we met Valencia…

Europa League Final

A Nerve biting win, We took an early lead on the counter before Valencia pulled one back, we then went in front before Valencia took the game into extra time. We then dominated extra time with 2 goals within 10 minutes putting the tie out of reach and at the final whistle we were CHAMPIONS!!

BOLTON WANDERERS FIRST EVER EUROPEAN TROPHY.

Table

A 9th place finish wasn’t what we wanted but luckily we delivered in Europe and we’re in the Champions League again next season.

Awards

Joacy was my player of the season but his injury probably allowed Bezerra who didn’t miss a game take it from the fans.

Season Review

All in all a great season, semi finals in both domestic cups losing to treble winners City in both and winning the Europa League

Transfers

Arsenal came in wirth a £90m offer for Marin, thats a £60m profit, Everton came in for my keeper Quinn on deadline day.

Valdson

Signed him a year sooner than i wanted but interest by bigger clubs and interest in my current RM made me jump sooner. He’s only 19 he’ll be gone for £100m in a few seasons

Lawrence

I had been looking at replacing Quinn in 12 months time so when Everton came in I already was looking into Lawrence so I was happy to do the deal.

Latest Tactic

We need to score more goals, A lot of games are too tight so i’ve made some tweaks to the tactic

After speaking to a few people I’ve changed a few roles and mentalities whilst keeping the same formation and Team Instructions.
First I changed the CWB from support to attack to get him further afield on the attack. then i changed my RPM to a CM on support to again get this player further forward as my midfield was too passive. The lack of a playmaker saw me change the DM-d to a Deep Lying Playmaker on defend.
Also my Left midfielder has been on Winger Support the last few seasons and I wanted more out of him so I’ve gone for a Wide Midfielder on Attack.
The hope with these changes is basically when we attack on the counter we get more bodies forward to increase our chances of scoring more goals.

Overview

Champions of Europa and back into the champions league. A great season even though we finished 9th in the league.
Two young additions to improve the squad short term and long term.
Come back next time to see how we’re getting on!
